My Philosophy

I respect western medicine and have utilized its benefits several times throughout my life.  There are however many flaws within the western medical model that often prevent patients from achieving optimal health.  Having experienced this firsthand with unnecessary surgery and unhelpful prescription medications I knew there had to be other answers.  The answer I found was Chinese Medicine.  The eastern medical model takes the whole person into account when treating disease and injury.  By doing this dysfunction becomes clear within the context of a larger overall pattern.  Alternatives to surgery and prescription medications are a reality when this approach is taken .  I advocate  a dual approach to health that considers both the eastern and western medical approach.  I refer to western doctors when appropriate and when Chinese Medicine is integral for the best results I guide my patients down the path towards recovery.

How I Got Started

In 2001, while studying for my B.F.A. at the University of Colorado, I happened to walk by a Tai Chi class on the campus lawn. I was intrigued by the meditative and graceful movements I witnessed the students performing. Soon after I became a member of the class and began to earnestly explore Chinese concepts of health and healing. This led me to become a Tai Chi and Qi Gong student of Master Zhu Xilin, the top student of Master Shi Ming featured in Bill Moyer’s Healing and the Mind series.  This experience led me to become a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist so that I could share what I was learning with others and help people heal.

My Passion for Healing Pain & Injury

I have healed many of my own physical injuries from shoulder problems to low back and hip issues. I understand the way that physical dysfunction can negatively impact your life.  My greatest reward is seeing my clients return to a healthy and active lifestyle.  After an injury rehabilitation session with me you will get off the table wondering how you have lived with pain and dysfunction for so long.  In addition to treating pain and injury  I successfully treat a variety of other conditions.  Bradley’s Approach

My approach combines a few alternative therapies in order to maximize your results.  I use a large amount of hands on therapy during treatment such as myofascial, deep tissue, and bony alignment work.  Following this needling is performed to release trigger points and balance the body’s energy.  Finally, I give lifestyle recommendations as well as exercise prescriptions to make your results last.

Juan Orraca

I am a Board-certified Chinese medicine practitioner, licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and nutritional consultant. I graduated from Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine where I completed a Masters degree. My Postgraduate areas of study and expertise are pain management, reproductive health(man and women), and gastrointestinal disorders.

My inspiration to study medicine came after years of a mentorship with a South American medicine man who was also in the practice of Chinese Medicine. I had numerous journeys with my mentor having the opportunity to be part of countless healing sessions and mindfulness practices. These experiences shaped and molded the person and practitioner I am today. After nearly 7 years I made the decision to continue perusing the art of healing in the form of a formal education in Chinese medicine and ultimately having a practice of my own.

My mission is to share my experiences and knowledge in order to facilitate a life free of pain and dis-ease to others. One of the most important lessons I learned was that the body has its own natural ability to heal itself. Identical to the power of nature “outside” of us, the human body also has the ability to regenerate, enhance, and protect. Furthermore, it is fascinating that when this ability is somehow weakened or depleted the nature outside of us can be utilized to support and strengthen us until regaining our self-healing abilities. My purpose is to utilize nature’s healing tools to strengthen your body’s healing potential. My vision is to journey with you into this profound place of self-discovery and optimum health.

I now continue my travels abroad doing cultural medicine exchange events with indigenous people. Lately, I spend most of my time outside of my interests in medicine with my baby Marco, Wife Olga and dog Maxi boy. I was born in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and speak fluent Spanish.
